Network Operators, Service Providers, Equipment Suppliers, and Public Safety should use session timers for all Operations, Administration, Maintenance, and Provisioning (OAM&P) applications, systems, and interfaces to disconnect, terminate, or logout authenticated sessions that remain inactive past some preset (but ideally configurable by the Administrator) time limit that is appropriate for operational efficiency and security.
